Synopsis

OMS is a Total Conversion mod for Unreal Tournament 3. This game is based on many other quite popular games such as Infiltration, Call of Duty 4, and of course America's Army.

Mission Statement

We are providing a new environment based around the ideas that have made Linux and open source development successful. As development of mods becomes more difficult and the process slows further it has become ever clear to us that a mod cannot be developed in a dark cathedral. Our team is a doorway into the concepts that are involved in both Agile and Extreme development philosophies providing shorter iterations and leading to less down time where the public has no clue what the progress of the mod is.

Our team, forums, design document, code, artwork, versioned releases and so forth are always available, assuming assembla/Trac does not crash. Being a supporter of this mod allows you to take part in development in a way that has not been put to use so far, allowing us to build a more enjoyable game in the long run because it will have been built by all of us, not by 10 muted developers sitting in a dark corner.

Other Notes

Although our mod is based on the concept of emulating reality it does not mean that this will not be enjoyable. In similar fashion to a movie that portrays an actual event we intend to take creative freedom and have fun with our creations. Guns may kick more, we may move faster than usual, our weapons may not even exist in reality. The premise of emulating reality is ingrained in our mod and we are also bound by the idea of keeping one foot in reality.
